almost-always-eventually-right

Whenever I see additional/bonus material for The Avengers that involves Mark Ruffalo acting as Bruce Banner, like the post-credit scene in Iron Man 3 or the Thor Ragnarok comic con special, I notice him like I never notice any other actor in the Marvel franchise. He is on a completely different wavelength. When he has less prep-time, when he’s not portraying a dire situation, he doesn’t act. Everyone else on camera is doing a performance, but Bruce Banner just exists. I don’t know if it’s his voice, or his hair, or what, but there’s something different about him during these bonus performances and I can feel it. It’s natural. He becomes the only believable thing on screen. He makes me believe that the Hulk, the most ridiculous character in the entire roster, is the only real person. He’s perfect for the role. He grounds it in a way that should be impossible.

I don’t care if it’s an accident. It’s brilliant.
